I would classify this tutorial as INTERMEDIATE LEVEL, which assumes you have a basic knowledge of PSP and its tools.

For this tutorial you will need:

PSP 7 -- download a trial version.

KPT 6 Filter

Eye Candy

Well, let's get started!!!

Open a new canvas 400 x 500 transparent background. Save the canvas to your chosen name and remember to save your work often!

Effects KPT 6 Gel and choose the preset that looks like a golf ball.

You can enlarge your screen in Gel. See the next graphic.

Choose the small brush and sketch out a tree image.

When your outline is complete, use the gel wide brush to fill in the tree.

You should have an image that resembles this one.

Go to colors, adjust gamma correction. Settings should be 5.00.

Then effects, Eye Candy, Jiggle (I used EC3).

Your tree should look something like this.

That's it folks...your're done! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial as much as I did in writing it. Don't forget to resize your image before posting to the group......*s*
This tree does not color well with colors, colorize. I did colorize one using photo enhancement, manual color correction. And I played around with the same concept for adding snow to branches.

If you try to add snow to the branches, you have to add a layer to your image and make a templet by painting the areas in which you want snow. Then go to KPT Gel and use the same basic procedure as for this tree.

Here are a couple more examples of what can be done with this tutorial.
